lp-solve software package provides Solve (mixed integer) linear programming problems, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install lp-solve
lp-solve is installed in your system.
Make ensure the lp-solve package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep lp-solve *
You will get with lp-solve package name, version, architecture and description in a table
